10 years ago legendary swimmer Martin Strel (Big River Man) swam the entire length of the America´s mighty Mississippi River.
Later on he also conquered the improbable lengths and dangers of the Amazon, Yangtze, Danube and Paraná rivers and became the first human ever to have swum all 5 of the greatest rivers on the planet.

Strel dedicated his historic Mississippi swim to the victims of September 11.

To celebrate the freedom of the American people, and to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his historic swim down the Mississippi River, Martin Strel is going to swim from the iconic Statue of Liberty to the location of the future Freedom Tower.
